The design of this specific tattoo took a long time and a lot of effort.
The runes spell out the word LOGI, which is the icelandic word for a flame. It's a bit of a nickname that I have for my partner. The meaning of the runes is as follows. The top left is Lögur, or the L, and it stands for water, emotion and life. The one next to it is Óðal, or the O, and it stands for home and hearth and such. The big X is Gjöf(gift), the G, and it's meaning is gifts and unions and such. The last is the I and it is a rune that refers to things that go unaltered. It's a sign of permanence. A keen eye will spot a hint at a B shaped thing, Björk, which is a fertility rune, but that is an accidental occurance in the structure. While I can't copyright the actual runes, this Tattoo design is still copyrighted to me. Be nice. This tattoo is a symbol of my relationship and commitment to my partner as well as of his commitment to me. I'll be getting it inked into a visible spot on my body (side of my neck actually, just under the right ear) and he, in turn, will have a different design inked into him. That'll be uploaded later  |
