First up, I "am" working on art. Not quite as much as the usual because I've become distracted by a book project. No, it's not a novel, it's a serious book on a spiritual subject.

I've rearranged my faves. This means I've taken a lot of things out of my fave gallery, this is not because I've lost interested in the work or even lost the taste for it, but instead I've decided to be more reserved in handing out faves. That means that I'll probably be faving a lot less. Sticking to only faving work that I find highly powerful, emotive, beautiful, etcetera.
Faves are thus reserved to work who in my mind would be well placed on the walls of any gallery, or finer restaurant.
There are a million "pretty things" posted here, every single day, this is why I'm going to be more reserved. The thing is, there's a lot of things that are "pretty" but just aren't "art".
So my faves are reserved for "Exceptional works of art", from now on.

My favorite people in the world of DA:

I have been thinking of opening up shop for comissions. I got approached by a girl at the coffeeshop today. She looked at my little warrior doodle and expressed some awe, as well as commented that her boyfriend "HAS" to see it. Made me confused and a little giggly.
Anyhow, this made me think that I could afford to set up shop.

I do reserve the right to refuse a commishion, not because I'm about to be a right bitch about it, but because I do know that I have limits to what I can and will do. If for some reason I do not feel comfortable with a person's request, then I will not do it.

Other than that, what do you guys think?




My people of various awesomenesses for various reasons:

A little update for y'all. Mostly schoowork. I've been studying lines shapes and the structure of pictures this spring. We're moving onto the study of colours right now and that I'm already sure I'll finish with a good grade without much effort at all.
The study of lines and shapes and structures got me a 9/10 grade. The aspects of that which got me the highest points were "creativity", "diversity", "experimentation" and my understanding of "concepts".
This is of course in stark contrast with the words spoken to me by my other art teacher, the one that was teaching me model-drawing before I got booted out of that class, who told me I was repetitive, only ever drawing the same thing, and unable to learn and/or improve.
Oh well, I think I'll chalk that one up to my temper and unwillingness to bend over backwards to make a person less uncomfortable with being wrong.

Anyways. Yays for a good grade. Yays for a new art update. And Yays for all my wonderful watchers. You all should know that I am truly blessed to have you.

I noticed today that I have reached FOUR THOUSAND PAGE VIEWS.
I want to give a heart felt thank you to all you wonderful watchers and to everyone who has ever faved a picture of mine.

I'm doing mostly schoolwork. This semester focuses on image structure and colour-science so I'm making abstract pictures with lines and boxes and circles and such. This means that I'm working a lot, but not producing much worth scanning in.

I've also got a class in model drawing, so there'll be some people pictures coming in now and then.

And yes, I need to do the occational non-school picture to maintain sanity.
